BBC presenter Gabby Logan has come under fire on Twitter after she turned up to work despite the mass walkout.
It is anticipated that the fallout resulting from the BBC’s recent decision to have long-serving host Gary Lineker ‘step back’ from his hosting duties on Match of the Day will continue to affect programming today.
Following Lineker’s tweet expressing disapproval of a controversial new government policy, the broadcaster’s decision has faced considerable backlash from fans and some of Lineker’s colleagues on Match of the Day. This resulted in a broadcast on Saturday night that was devoid of any pundits or commentary, lasting only 20 minutes.
Moreover, the refusal of Alex Scott and other pundits to work in support of Lineker led to the cancellation of Football Focus and Final Score, as well as significant disruption to the Radio 5 Live service.
Sunday’s programming has also been heavily impacted, with Match of the Day 2 resembling the previous day’s 20-minute program, and coverage of the Women’s Super League clash between Chelsea and Manchester United at Kingsmeadow being drastically reduced.
Logan’s decision to present the Six Nations coverage made her an obvious target for some Twitter users.
One user wrote: “Gabby Logan showing no Solidarity.”
Another commented: “Gabby Logan the first scab to break ranks.”

Another wrote: “I see Gabby Logan from the BBC Sports team hasn’t refused to present today.”
“Disgraceful but that won’t stop Gabby Logan from making herself available today. She obviously couldnt care less about anyone else,” commented a fifth.
A sixth said: “Gabby Logan what a sad person more interested in money than immigrants”
