135kg Rugby prop VICIOUSLY assaults his teammate after loss

Two Racing props allegedly went up against each other in a drunken brawl over the weekend.

According to Le Parisien, hours after their home defeat against Lyon, Viliami Afatia (weighing in at an alleged 105kg) and Ben Tameifuna (135kg) were found in adjacent streets in the early hours of Sunday morning, with the former allegedly having been assaulted by the latter.

The report claims Afatia was found with his face “bloody and swollen” by local police, who then found Tameifuna nearby. Afatia was hospitalised with a suspected facial fracture.

Tameifuna meanwhile was arrested by police, who were unable to handcuff the tighthead prop “due to the thickness of his wrists”.

A Racing official, former player Chris Masoe according to Rugbyrama, picked up both players from the hospital and police station respectively the following morning.

It is reported that Afatia will not press charges, although Tameifuna may face charges for insulting the police officers.
