Medicals RFC has confirmed today that their player Marcus Colville passed away on Wednesday the 13th December.
The hooker, aged 20, from Exeter was a medical student at Newcastle University and a very gifted musician.
Colville tragically took his own life, confirmed assistant coach Gray Haynes.
As a result, the club, based in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, has since postponed its first team match against Ponteland this weekend.
It’s with great saddness to announce that Medicals player and student Marcus Colville passed away on Wednesday the 13th December. Funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.

“We want to encourage to speak up and help is out there,” said Haynes.
