3 England contenders who impressed, and 3 who underperformed this weekend

#1. Sam Simmonds (Exeter Chiefs)

Devon Live: “Simply outstanding. Dynamic as ever and carrying exceptionally making 83 metres in 16 carries. Got his inevitable try, darting of the base of the scrum to barge his way over and get his side back in touching distance.

“Then with his side in the lead the number eight produced an outstanding turnover which probably earned his side their victory when Wasps were pressing the Exeter line late on.”

UNDERPERFORMED

#3. Luke Cowan-Dickie (Exeter Chiefs)

Devon Live: “He was penalised deep in his own half which eventually led to Wasps’ first try. Then with Exeter camped deep in the Wasps 22 at the start of the second half produced a poor error, knocking on from a tap penalty to relieve the pressure.

“Sadly, came off with what looked like an ankle injury on 51 minutes which will be a concern for the Chiefs side.”
