Adam Jones says Wales pulled ‘the fastest one ever’ against Georgia

Adam Jones has accused Wales of pulling ‘the fastest one ever’ with the late scrummage fiasco in their 13-6 win over Georgia.

Wales had been reduced to 14 men in front of their own posts after tighthead Tomas Francis had been sin-binned when Georgia opted for a five-metre scrum.

Warren Gatland said their starting props, Nicky Smith (calf) and Leon Brown (cramp) had injuries and so couldn’t rejoin the fray, leading to uncontested scrums.

It was a wholly unsatisfactory end to a dismal game that saw 95-times capped tighthead rock Adam question the build up to uncontested scrums.

He took to social media to say: “Brown and Smith just warming up?! Interesting!!”

Former Dragons hooker Steve Jones replied: “I think we pulled a fast one pal.”

To which Harlequins front-rower Adam added: “A fast one?! The fastest one ever!!! They were warming up!!”
