#2. John Dawes (Wales)
Skippered one of Wales’ greatest ever teams when winning the 1971 Grand Slam using just 16 players in the process. In his 22 games for Wales, Dawes captained the side on six occasions being on the winning side five times. Later in ‘71 Dawes would go on to skipper the Lions on their tour to New Zealand, the only time they were to win a series against the All Blacks.
