Amazing story emerges about Joe Marler following France defeat

World Cup finalists England fell to a chastening 24-17 defeat by a resurgent France as their Six Nations hopes wilted in the Parisian rain.

Following the game, Joe Marler went to speak to the French coaches to ask about opposing tighthead Mohamed Haouas who was on debut during the Six Nations opener.

The Harlequins loosehead then went to the changing room to have a beer with the Frenchman and ended up giving him his jersey.

According to the Midi Olympique, Haouas offered to exchange his, but Marler refused, saying: “It’s the jersey from your first cap, you shouldn’t swap it or give it to anyone.”

Class act.
