Argentina captain forced to delete his social media after controversial tweets are revealed

Argentina captain Pablo Matera has been forced to delete all of his social media after old posts were uncovered, according to reports in Argentina..

The player came into focus after the Pumas had to apologize for not paying a worthy tribute to the figure of Diego Armando Maradona, something that in the eyes of the fans the All Blacks of New Zealand did.

After that, Matera was exposed in tweets in which he made misogynistic, racist and xenophobic comments.

There he refers to the tasks of his domestic worker, and even to the trip of the selected one to South Africa for the Junior Rugby World Cup 2012: “Nice tomorrow to go out to kill black people” and “Hate to Bolivians, Paraguayans, etc. It was born from a maid who once lost a hair in her food ” were some of the most repudiated messages.

Here is some of the social media reaction to the tweets;

Warren Gatland named five England players as ‘certainties’ for the 2021 Lions tour

Speaking to the BBC in November 2019, Warren Gatland was asked by Ugo Monye to name five certainties for his Lions XV to face South Africa in 2021.

One year on, let’s look at who he picked:

1. Jamie George

Position: Hooker

Age: 30

How’s he doing? George has continued to star for England and is 1/20 to make the 2021 squad. Almost the first name on the team sheet right now following his hat-trick against Georgia.

DID YOU KNOW? He is an Aston Villa fan with his current favourite player being Jack Grealish.
