Argentina star quits international rugby for Premiership move

Argentina fullback Joaquín Tuculet is reportedly on his way to the Gallagher Premiership after retiring from international rugby.

The 31-year-old fullback terminated his contract with the UAR, prompting his retirement from Los Pumas after nine seasons, two World Cups and 55 caps.

According to reports, he will be joining an unnamed English club on a two-year contract. The two teams mentioned are Leicester Tigers and Newcastle Falcons.

Tuculet only had words of gratitude for his time in the national side: “to give thanks to the Argentine Rugby Union for these last five years lived, since I returned from Europe there at the end of 2015.

“Without a doubt, I take great memories and experiences that will be saved forever throughout my life. “

At the same time, he added: ” Finally, I would like to thank the Los Pumas staff and my colleagues for these weeks of training shared at Casa, after five months of being distanced by the COVID 19 pandemic.”
