Sale Sharks – Sam James

After a breakthrough year in 2015-16, in which he was the joint winner of the Sharks’ Young Player of the Season award, James took his appearance tally beyond 50 last season. And his reward for a string of impressive performances was an England debut against the Barbarians, and being called up to the tour to Argentina.


Saracens – Richard Barrington

After arriving from Championship side Jersey, the 28-year-old has managed to develop himself a reputation as a fine scrummager and a dependable prop forward.


Wasps – Josh Bassett

The 25-year-old winger joined Wasps from Bedford Blues in 2013 after beginning his rugby career with Ampthill. Despite all the international superstar’s Wasps have signed down the years, Bassett continues to shine.


Worcester Warriors – Chris Pennell

Worcester born-and-bred Chris Pennell is a product of the Warriors Academy and burst onto the scene in 2007 when he made his Premiership debut against Bath Rugby. The full-back, now in his 11th season with Warriors, has made over 175 appearances for the Club.
