Bath star snubbed by Warren Gatland for Wales squad

Rhys Priestland is not expecting to be selected by Wales this week, despite rediscovering his best form with Bath.

Warren Gatland announces his squad on Tuesday but Priestland, who has not played for his country since June 2016, is not hopeful of a re-call.

Wales set to face Australia, Georgia, New Zeland and South Africa this autumn

“Warren has not been in contact,” he revealed to the MailOnline.

“If they ring me that’s fine, but I won’t be waiting by my phone. I am not going to build my hopes up.

“I would love to play for Wales. If you are not in the coach’s mind it doesn’t really matter (what people are saying). It is out of my control.

“I don’t know where I stand – all I can do is play well for Bath, get victories there. That is all I have been trying to do for the last two months.”
