Best, worst players for each Six Nations country so far

SCOTLAND

Best: Hamish Watson – The flanker, who missed most of their World Cup campaign through injury, has led his teams defence with trademark tenacity. Watson is the breakdown king.

Worst: Stuart Hogg – One lovely kick-return against England could not save a difficult day for Scotland’s captain again this past weekend. For the second weekend in a row, a big error cost his team. The fullback is not just their leader, he’s their captain and they need him to play much better if they are to avoid the wooden spoon.

WALES

Best: Josh Adams – Brilliant poacher’s hat-trick for the speedster against Italy, continuing his brilliant form on from last year’s Rugby World Cup, before limping off against Ireland.

Worst: George North – Against Ireland, not for the first time, I found myself struggling to remember seeing him touch the ball until he popped up with a knock on towards the end. Two missed tackles in defence and only four metres made in attack. Was slightly better in the centre against Italy, but he might as well have be watching from the stands if he doesn’t get more involved.
