All Black tests positive for banned substance

An All Black has allegedly been tested positive for a banned substance.

According to Fairfax Blues second-row Patrick Tuipulotu was tested last year for performance enhancing drugs before New Zealand’s Test against France, which led to the player going back to New Zealand, citing personal reasons for his departure.

The New Zealand Herald stated that a representative from the Blues refused to comment on the matter. But the lock has yet to take part in the Blues pre-season preparations and won’t do till next week.

Late last year New Zealand rugby announced that all professional players will be tested for banned substances during the off-season.

Tuipulotu is a key player for both the All Blacks and the Blues after playing for his club 34 times and the All Blacks in 12 Tests.
