BREAKING: Premiership boss leaving with immediate effect

Reports this afternoon suggest that Newcastle Falcons boss Dave Walder has left the club with immediate effect.

According to the club, he missed the game against Exeter Chiefs at the weekend agains Exeter after undergoing a knee operation.

With him absent, Mark Laycock, Micky Ward and Mark Wilson took charge of the team for that game.

Newcastle refused to comment, but two sources have confirmed to Planet Rugby that Walder has now left the club permanently.

The news comes hours after it was confirmed the club had agreed a fee to release England prop Trevor Davision from his contract early to join Northampton Saints.

This was the latest controversial move from the club after top scorer George McGuigan was allowed to join Gloucester earlier this season before fan favourite Gary Graham’s departure was confirmed last week.

Last 15 seconds of this interview with Carl Fearns is now very interesting…
