British & Irish Lions tour could be set for location change

The Times are reporting this evening that Australia have offered to host the Lions series between the Springboks and Lions.

The three-test tour is scheduled for July and August with the first Test due to take place on July 24th at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.

However, the entire tour has been thrown into severe doubt by the seriousness of the pandemic in South Africa.

If the tour goes ahead in Aus, profits from the tour would be shared between two with the Wallabies taking costs only.

Provincial warm-ups would take against either South African or Australian Super Rugby teams.

Other options are still being considered, including the tour taking place in South Africa but with no fans, staging the matches in the UK or delaying the tour until next year.

BACK-THREE

Fullback. Freddie Steward- England: A risky pick. However, the fact Tigers have been rotating him into their side – and even gave him his competitive debut when he was still at Norwich School – lets you know they realise what a special talent they have on their hands, though.

Winger. Adam Radwan – England: He is lightning quick and knows how to finish, a player who can provide a cutting edge. Looks like he could be the ‘next Jonny May’ for England and potentially the Lions in the future.

Winger. Louis Rees-Zammit – Wales: You cannot put a price on outright pace. Rees-Zammit has it in abundance, and, combined with his finishing ability, you begin to understand why the hype surrounding him has been so intense. An exciting talent with countless caps and tries in him.
