Canada 15-5 France: Reds outlast Les Bleus in epic battle

Canada Women scraped into the semi-finals after they overcame France in the quarter-finals at the Deodoro Stadium

France settled the quicker and were keen to meet the Canadians head on with a driving maul. Sensing an opportunity Jade Le Pesq darted down the blindside to touch down in the corner, 0-5.

The Canadians fought back through Kayla Moleschi, who scooped the ball off the turf at the base of the scrum, went past Elodie Guiglion witwell-timedimed dummy and switched on the jets to speed away to level the scores heading into the break, 5-5.

Bianca Farella glided between two defenders to give Canada after the restart before with one minute left Ghislanine Landry secured the win, ensuring it’s Canada who will face Australia in the semi-finals.
