IF ANY figure in rugby deserves an epic biopic than it is legendary referee Nigel Owens.
Born and raised in a small village in South Wales he was appointed as a test official in 2005, before going onto become the most capped international referee in history.
Today Owens owns 100-acres over two farm sites near Pontyberem, in his home county of Carmarthenshire, where he keeps two herds of Hereford cattle.
There are plenty of players and characters I’ve ignored, and remember, it’s just a bit of fun!

It helps that he’s Welsh. Although best known for playing the sausage-munching Ramsey Bolton from Game of Thrones, I think his range as an actor would be imperative. The film would likely be a dark comedy, meaning he would have to address the serious issues in Owens life; such as his sexuality, bulimia and battles with mental health.
