The Times has reported that Chris Ashton’s move to Sale Sharks is a done deal.
Ashton has signed for the Premiership club in a move that will reignite his prospects of playing for England at the 2019 Rugby World Cup
According to the article, the winger finalised his return to the Gallagher Premiership this morning after Sale agreed to pay Toulon €100,000 — about £88,500 — to secure his release.
He has also reportedly taken a significant pay cut in joining Sale for about £450,000 a year.
It’s also understood that Ashton agreed to forsake some image rights that he was owed by Toulon to help the deal go through.
