CRAZY | Eddie Jones plans to deploy flanker in unorthodox position

England head coach Eddie Jones is set to call up Ben Curry to join his twin brother in the international set-up but could use him in a new role according to the Mail Online.

The 21-year-old has established himself as a cornerstone of the Sale pack at openside, but Jones believes that the uncapped Curry can also be deployed as a scrum-half.

Curry is like his brother in many ways; being a strong tackler and relentless operator at the breakdown but differently is very good at being a link man in open play.

Jones is understood to have previously indicated to the club that the uncapped Curry should be converted into a scrum-half, despite being slightly bulkier than his younger brother, by 90 minutes, Tom.

Sources have indicated to Chris Foy at the Mail that there is a genuine intention within the England set-up to explore the option of deploying him in a hybrid role, similar to when Jones contemplated having Jack Nowell in the back-row.

It’s thought this sort of bold tactic would be done to allow England to go into Tests without a scrum-half on the bench, making room for another forward.
