Sale Sharks scrum half Faf de Klerk is free to play again immediately after receiving two yellow cards in the Anglo-Welsh cup match against the Scarlets.
Charges against Sale Sharks’ Faf de Klerk were heard on papers by Philip Evans QC.
In the Anglo-Welsh cup match between Scarlets and Sale Sharks on 2 February 2018, the player was shown a red card following two yellow cards. Both yellow cards were for technical offences and issued in the 60th and 62nd minutes of the match.
The player consented to the matter being dealt with on papers. The sanction table set out at Appendix 1 to RFU Regulation 19 determines that the sanction for two yellow cards (where both are given for a technical offence) is sending off sufficient.
