Eddie Jone has compared his latest omission of Danny Cipriani to a relationship break-up.
“I rang him to tell him,” said Jones, who once again left out the Gloucester playmaker.
“Have you ever had a girl tell you that she doesn’t love you?
“You don’t remember the rest of the conversation.
“When you tell them they’re not in, they say ‘yes, yes’, but they don’t hear anything.
“At the end of the day, it comes down to a judgment. So people think he’s played well?
“Well maybe I don’t think he’s played that well.
“The judgment is that he’s the third choice in our hierarchy at the moment.
“George (Ford) and Owen (Farrell) are our first two No10s. I’ve made it very explicit to him what he needs to work on. And that’s all I can do.”
