Eddie Jones dealt major blow as Saracens star faces second ankle operation

George Kruis was due to have a scan today to conclude where the England lock needs a second ankle operation in less than a year, reports the London Evening Standard.

If surgery is required, the Saracen would be out of action for six to eight weeks, which is the length of time it took him to recover from the minor procedure last October. The injury ruled him out of England’s Autumn series.

Kruis was forced off 14 minutes into Saracens 55-24 win against Northampton, with Nick Isiekwe taking over in the second row.

Young England lock Isiekwe is expected to retain his place for the trip to Bath on Saturday, with Sarries possibly bringing Wallaby lock Will Skelton into their squad following an arm injury.
