England and Wasps legend Lawrence Dallaglio reportedly ‘facing bankruptcy’

The taxman is reported to have lodged a case against Lawrence Dallaglio on Tuesday at London’s High Court.

However, speaking to The Sun on Thursday, the Rugby Union and England legend insisted Thursday ‘someone is dealing with it’.

He said: “It’s all OK. There’s nothing to worry about. I’ve got someone dealing with it.”

Dallaglio was on the 2003 England team which beat Australia in World Cup final and is now a regular pundit on BT Sport’s coverage of the Gallagher Premiership.

The legendary Wasps number 8 was thought to be part of the consortium looking to buy Wasps, though this development is not thought to effect the ongoing sale.

Lawrence Dallaglio facts:

  • His full name is actually Lorenzo Bruno Nero Dallaglio
  • Playing in all three positions in the back row, he won 85 caps for England, and was part of the team that won the 2003 World Cup
  • He is one of a very small number of players to have won both the Rugby World Cup and Sevens World Cup
  • Dallaglio went on three tours with the British & Irish Lions, winning three caps
  • His sister Francesca, a 19-year-old student ballerina, died in the Marchioness disaster in 1989

Lawrence Dallaglio’s ultimate XV of teammates and opponents was so good even Jonny Wilkinson didn’t make it

Find his ‘perfect’ rugby team below.

15 CHRISTIAN CULLEN (NZ): Comes down to Cullen or Serge Blanco. While Blanco might have been a great player for a longer period, Cullen’s best years were sensational

14 DAVID CAMPESE (AUS): Wasn’t always generous in his comments about England but he was a great player and, really, he walks into the team

13 JERRY GUSCOTT (ENG): The way Jerry could accelerate onto a pass made him unique in my eyes. One of those players with the ability to do something that changed a game

12 FRANK BUNCE (NZ): Lots of people will say ‘how can you not pick Tim Horan at No 12?’ Horan was a great player, a better attacker than Bunce but I loved Bunce’s physicality

11 JONAH LOMU (NZ): If only for the matches he played against England, he would get in, but Lomu played plenty of other great matches.
