Ex-England captain rushes to the defence of Kyle Sinckler

Ex-England captain Will Carling has rushed to the defence of prop Kyle Sinckler after the criticism he received from pundits following the defeat against Wales in Cardiff.

The forward clearly plays right on the edge of his emotions, bringing an athletic physicality to the position that few in world rugby can match.

He had walked the line with swaggering intent for the first 50 minutes in the Cardiff crucible – then veered off course and was quickly withdrawn by Eddie Jones.

But after receiving backlash from pundits, Carling stood up for the 25-year-0ld on Twitter.

“Sinckler a cheap target by some pundits.” tweeted Carling.

He added: ” Man was amazing in defence 1st half. He was a huge target for the Welsh, no issue with that, but he is fast maturing and learning to keep his edge (which I love) and maintaining control.

“The man is going to be awesome”
