The fly-half has emerged as an injury doubt for England’s Six Nations finale against Italy a week on Saturday with a pre‑existing achilles problem and has withdrawn from the Teddington camp. He’s expected to return against Ireland this weekend.

Sale Sharks director of rugby Steve Diamond has revealed on the 1st October that he has been ruled out for six months with a torn Achilles tendon. He will miss England’s remaining 2020 Six Nations game with Italy and possibly the entire 2021 tournament. Tuilagi will also be unavailable for the Autumn Nations Cup, which starts this November.
