Three-time European champions Toulon want club legend Jonny Wilkinson to return to the club once again in a coaching capacity.
The fly-half enjoyed a hugely successful spell at the Top 14 side from 2009-2014 after joining from Newcastle Falcons. winning three European Cups and a French title, and now Mourad Boudjellal wants him back.
Wilkinson was instrumental in them winning three European Cups and a French title in that period, so it’s no surprise that owner Mourad Boudjellal wants him back.
Boudjellal wants the Englishman to come on board in a consultancy coaching role and mentor the likes of 21-year-old Anthony Belleau.
The 38-year-old took up a similar role for a brief period ahead of the Top 14 final last year.
“We obviously hope Jonny will come back to have a consultant’s role, but nothing has been agreed yet.” Boudjellal said.
Whether or not new boss Fabien Galthie approves is unknown, but we doubt that would bother Boudjellal either way.
