England star Mako Vunipola drops BIG hint on Saracens future

SARACENS star Mako Vunipola has revealed he isn’t ready to commit himself to the club following their relegation as the prop waits for the Covid-19 crisis to subside.

Reigning top-flight champions Sarries will drop into the Championship at the end of the current campaign after being automatically demoted for salary cap breaches.

His brother, Billy, has already insisted he is ‘definitely staying’ at Saracens and hopes to help the crisis-hit club secure an immediate return to the Gallagher Premiership.

Mako, whose partner Alex give birth to their second child 11 days ago, said: “My brother has said he’s committed and Saracens have been good to us, but nothing’s really definite with the current climate we’re in,

“It’s a case of waiting to see what happens for the rest of this season.

The prop, who had supported a loan move for teammate to Maro Itoje to Racing 92, hinted that where he ends up could depend on a conversation with the England boss.

EDITORS PICKS:

“I’ve not had any conversation with Eddie Jones about next season in terms if what I need to be doing to play for England yet , for now it’s getting through this period and keeping on top of training.”

Mako comes from a rich vein of rugby talent. His father and uncle played for Tonga while cousin Taulupe Faletau has been capped by Wales and British & Irish Lions. Brother Billy is a Saracens and England teammate and younger cousin Manu made his senior Sarries debut in the 2018/19 campaign.
