England have added back rows Matt Kvesic and Josh Beaumont to their training squad for Saturday’s RBS 6 Nations clash with Italy in Rome.

Kvesic and Beaumont were included in Eddie Jones’ first 33-man squad but failed to make the cut for the opening match against Scotland, which was won 15-9 at Murrayfield last Saturday.

England have retained a total of 27 players at their Surrey training camp, including the 23 chosen to face Scotland and travelling reserves Elliot Daly and Maro Itoje.

Beaumont scored the only try of the game as Sale Sharks ended Leicester’s unbeaten home run in the Premiership at the weekend, while Kvesic was part of the Gloucester side that defeated Bath last Friday.
