England Women 52 Wales Women 0: Red Roses overpower Wales in Six Nations

England women put Wales to the sword as they ran in eight tries in a 52-0 bonus-point victory at Twickenham Stoop.

With HRH Prince Harry in attendance on a chilly, overcast afternoon in south west London with light drizzle throughout the game, England were ahead inside the opening 10 minutes.

Poppy Cleall opened the scoring before tries from Abigail Dow, Leanne Riley and Ellie Kildunne secured the bonus-point before the break.

And Katy Daley-Mclean added three of the conversions to give the Red Roses a commanding 26-0 lead at halftime.

Prop Rochelle Clark extended the lead with a score from the back of a rolling maul five minutes after the restart before Rachael Burford added number six for the Red Roses on the hour mark.

Daley-Mclean added both conversions to stretch their advantage before Cleall powered over for her second late try.

But England saved their best for last as  Kildunne broke from near halfway to score England’s eighth try with Daley-Mclean again conversion, 52-0.

The Red Roses next head to Scotland in two weeks time as they look to keep their hopes of a Grand Slam alive.
