England’s injury woes continue as star undergoes second operation

Bath and England centre Jonathan Joseph broke his left foot while playing against Saracens at Allianz Park in April.

That was the last he featured in the 2017/18 campaign and it had been hoped that he would be fit and firing for next season.

However, that could now be in serious doubt. With the Gallagher Premiership opener against Bristol a little over six weeks away, Joseph has revealed on his Instagram page that he has had more surgery.

When he received his honorary Masters degree from the University of Derby yestday he was brought onto the stage in a wheelchair, wearing his cap and gown, with his left foot in a protective boot.

Under a sponsored post on his Instagram page, including a picture taken at an earlier date, Joseph wrote: “Resting up this week post operation. Recovering with @bulkpowders_uk.”

He had earlier posted an Instagram story pointing out that he was back in a boot.
