After touching down to score, at the expense of Ireland captain Johnny Sexton’s mistake, George Ford booted the ball into the stands.
However, the fly-half’s punt into touch became hit the jubilant supporter flush in the face instead.

Ford took to Instagram today to apologise for the incident.
“Loved being back at Twickenham yesterday, a good team performance. Congrats to Jonathan Joseph on your 50th mate,” wrote Ford.
“Also massive apology to @mctyke1 for the ball hitting you after the try, I’m glad to hear that you are all well and thank you for your brilliant support!”
