England international James Haskell has been accused of ‘disrespecting women’s rugby’ with one of his latest. online comments.
The former flanker told Bristol Bears player Simi Pam to “have a day off” when she correctly corrected an Instagram post that failed to recognise the achievements of England’s women players.
Following the exchange, Haskell blocked Pam along with a number of other women’s rugby influencers such as RUCK columnist Stella Mills.
“I think you meant to say “most England caps – MALE front row forwards”. Please stop disrespecting the women like this. Because they [sic] way you’ve named this list, we know Rocky Clark tops it. Please do better @goodbadrugby,” wrote Pam.
The response appeared to get under the skin of Haskell, who swiftly replied: “@simipam have a day off.”
