He launched the podcast series Pearl Conversations, which featured prominent Black role models. He is also a supporter of the educational charity The Black Curriculum, which is focused on introducing more Black British history into the UK curriculum.
He has also done a lot of modelling, which includes shoots for Ralph Lauren and Marks & Spencer this year.
Maro Itoje facts:
- Made his test debut in the 40-9 Six Nations win over Italy in Rome on 14 Feb 2016.
- Scored his first test try in England’s 42-39 defeat by South Africa in Johannesburg on 9 June, 2018.
- At the age of 22, was the youngest player in the British and Irish Lions squad in 2017.
- Counts former England flanker and RWC 2003 winner Richard Hill as one of his mentors.
- His parents are both Nigerian.
