Injury News: John Barclay goes under the knife

Edinburgh-bound John Barclay underwent surgery on Monday for a ruptured Achilles tendon sustained in Scarlets’ PRO14 semi-final win over his former club Glasgow Warriors.

Together, the Scottish Rugby Union and Edinburgh have made arrangements for Barclay to begin his recovery and rehabilitation in Edinburgh.

The injury will keep the Scottish captain out for a minimum of six months and obviously means he will miss Scarlets’ PRO14 final clash with Leinster this coming weekend.
