Wasps boss Dai Young has provided a cautiously positive update on the shoulder injury his skipper Joe Launchbury suffered while playing for England.
The lock was replaced 31 minutes into England’s 48-14 win over Samoa, and looked in obvious discomfort.
“Launchers’ shoulder injury is sore and swollen today, but they’ve x-rayed it, the shoulder is stable and there’s nothing of major concern there,” he said.
“Obviously it’s now about how he progresses over the next 48 hours.
“You would suggest it’s a collision injury, as the shoulder’s structurally sound and it doesn’t look as if there’s any ligament damage and it didn’t dislocate.
“If things don’t settle down after 48 hours we’ll investigate a little bit further, but he’s had investigations with England yesterday and we’re pretty confident it’s nothing too concerning.”
