James Haskell picks his all-time dream back-row

Openside-flanker: Richie McCaw (New Zealand)

He captained the national team, the All Blacks, in 110 out of his 148 test matches, and won two Rugby World Cups. He has won the World Rugby player of the year award a joint record three times and was the most capped test rugby player of all time from August 2015 to October 2020.

Haskell said: “The thing that has stood out for me is his decision-making at the breakdown,  knowing when to compete for the ball, to clear out or to get back in the line, he always makes the right decision and he’s been doing it for years.”

DID YOU KNOW? McCaw was taught to fly gliders by his grandfather J H ‘Jim’ McCaw who flew more than 300 missions in the Second World War.
