John Hardie praises Glasgow’s new addition on Twitter

Scotland international flanker John Hardie has taken to Twitter to praise one of Glasgow Warrior’s new additions.

Hardie, who has won 16 caps since making his international debut in 2015, had never visited Scotland prior to arriving in the UK in the build up to the Rugby World Cup.

“Callum Gibbins is a great signing.” tweeted Hardie.

Gibbins, who is also a flanker, confirmed he’d be joining the Warriors on a three-year deal back in January.

Hardie’s comments came after the 29-year-old put in a stellar performance as a replacement as the Hurricanes powered past the Brumbies 35-16 in their Super Rugby quarter final this morning.

Speaking to glasgowwarriors.org back in January, Gibbins said: “I’m excited about the opportunity to start a new journey with Glasgow Warriors in Scotland.

“I feel privileged to be in a situation where I can make a decision like this and I’m looking forward to the new experiences that lie ahead.

“Each of the teams I’ve represented, and all the fans who have supported those teams, hold a special place in my heart, and there is no doubt I’ll miss the people I’ve been involved in during my rugby career to date.”

DID YOU KNOW: In January 2017, it was reported that Hardie had chased down and caught a shoplifter at Edinburgh’s Ocean Terminal shopping centre.
