Johnny Leota and Logovi’i Mulipola handed bans

  • Johnny Leota and Logovi’i Mulipola handed bans
  • The pair will miss the clash between Sale and Leicester
  • Leota was handed a two-week ban while Mulipola was given a one-week ban
Johnny Leota and Logovi’i Mulipola will miss the clash between Sale and Leicester on Sunday because of disciplinary bans.

Sharks centre Leota, who has been an integral part of Steve Diamond’s side this season, was shown red last weekend for kicking Wasps’ Tom Bristow in retaliation to having his head pushed into the ground.

Heard by a disciplinary committee yesterday, he pleaded guilty to the offence and as a result received a two-week ban.

Meanwhile, Tigers prop Mulipola was also at the hearing following his yellow card for a high tackle on Saracens centre Marcelo Bosh.

He also pleaded guilty and was handed a week-ban.
