Jim Hamilton has suggested Jonny Gray’s rumoured move to Bristol is done.
Talking on his and Andy Goode’s weekly podcast The Rugby Pod , the two journeymen professionals discussed Bristol Rugby’s transfer policy and their thoughts on how they will do next season.
Hamilton said: “I have heard Jonny Gray is a done deal to Bristol for 400 bags of sand [£400,000].
“I heard Harry Thacker as well.”
The 23-year-old currently pays for Glasgow Warriors in the Pro14 while Thacker, also 23, is struggling for game time at Leicester Tigers.

Looking back to when he was playing Hamilton said: “Bristol is a club that is frustrating me with the signings that they have made, guys at the end of their careers.
“They never wanted me,” Hamilton said jokingly.
“They frustrated me because as a player the amount of money you heard players were getting paid for the quality that they were [wasn’t right], they just did everything wrong there.
“But if you have a look now at the quality of the player that are being spoken about signing for them.
“And I don’t know whether this is just making people up, but we have heard about Abendanon, Strettle, Jonny Gray, Harry Thacker. If it’s all true they are going to be very good.”
Yesterday it was confirmed that Abendanon will not be moving from ASM Clermont Auvergne after signing a new two-year deal.
