10. Blair Kinghorn 9 – Three tries and stepped up excellently for absent Finn Russell. Muscled his way to score a good try on the half hour mark, and again shortly after half time. Breakaway try secured victory and kicked crucial points from the tee.
9. Ben White – 8 Superb as ever, and fired pinpoint passes all match
1. Pierre Schoeman: 8 – Cries of ‘Schoooooeeeee’ broke out across Murrayfield for every Schoeman carry, a big impact up front from the prop, entertaining Murrayfield with line breaks.
2. George Turner – 6 Disrupted Italy at the scrum, slowed the pace of the match and won important momentum at the set-piece. Off his best at the line-out, and made way for Ewan Ashman after 50 minutes.
3. Zander Fagerson 6 – Won a key scrum penalty after 27 minutes, as momentum swung for Scotland, and Italy lost a player to the bin.
4. Sam Skinner – 7 Worked tirelessly, super human endurance and physically impressive. Featured at almost every ruck.
5. Jonny Gray – 7 Like Skinner, the engine room and emptied the tank for an hour.
6. Jamie Ritchie – 6 Scotland’s captain once again gave away yards from talking back to the referee, but was defensively solid and led Scotland well.
7. Hamish Watson – 6 Eager for game time after a recent head injury and replacement appearances. Worked tirelessly for 50 minutes, and proved himself defensively. Not quite a headline making performance from the back-rower, Replaced by Matt Fagerson
8. Jack Dempsey – 8 Superb performance – Shone in attack and defence, a fan favourite for Man of the Match
