Kyle Eastmond rejects Harlequins to sign with Premiership rival

England centre Kyle Eastmond is reportedly set to sign a two-year deal with London Irish after departing from Leicester Tigers.

A dual-code international, the 30-year-old won six England caps and joined Tigers following stints with Bath and Wasps ahead of the 2018/19 season.

Eastmond was one of five players to have departed Tigers following their wage row, alongside Manu Tuilagi (Sale Sharks), Telusa Veainu (Stade Francais), Greg Batemen (Scarlets rumoured) and Noel Reid (Agen).

According to RUCK sources, Eastmond had held talks with Harlequins and was set to sign a short-term deal, but received a longer contract offer from the Exiles.

The centre has been compared to Australian international Scott Prince, because of his darting runs to the line and a good kicking game. He has also got a keen eye for a gap in the defensive line.
