Leicester Tigers interested in recruiting ‘absolutely brilliant’ Fiji captain

Fiji captain Waisea Nayacalevu is poised to bid farewell to Toulon at the conclusion of the season, following reports from French outlet L’Equipe indicating that the Top 14 giants won’t be renewing his contract.

The 33-year-old, who joined the three-time Investec Champions Cup winners in the summer of 2022 from Stade Francais, finds himself without an extension after two seasons at the Stade Mayol.

According to L’Equipe, Nayacalevu has engaged in discussions with Montpellier, currently languishing at the bottom of the Top 14 table.

However, the exact destination for the Fijian centre in the upcoming season remains unconfirmed.

Sources from RUCK suggest that Leicester Tigers could be a potential landing spot for the powerful player, although several Japanese clubs are also reportedly expressing interest in securing his services.
