  • He played Pro2 after moving to France before stepping up to Top 14 in 2014
Leicester Tigers have announced the signing of back-rower Luke Hamilton from Agen on Tuesday morning.

Tigers director of rugby Richard Cockerill said: “We have been looking for another player to join our back-row options with Jordan Crane and Laurence Pearce moving on next season and we’re delighted that Luke has now agreed to join us.

“He can play across the back row and gives us some good options there. He is a young man with some good experience in club rugby in Wales and he has done very well in the testing environment of French rugby.

“We look forward to welcoming him to the Tigers.”

Looking ahead to his move to the Aviva Premiership, Hamilton said: “I am looking forward to joining the Tigers. It is a club with amazing fans and a great history who play an exciting style of rugby.

“After speaking with Richard Cockerill and Aaron Mauger, I was impressed with the plans for the future and I can’t wait to meet up with the squad in the summer.”

The 24-year-old will report for pre-season training this summer alongside other new recruits Matt Toomua, JP Pietersen, George McGuigan, Tom Brady and Pat Cilliers.
