A lot of new signings have shone since lockdown, such as Ben Spencer, Kyle Sinckler and many more, but these five have struggled to catch the eye at their new clubs…
1. Jonny May (Gloucester Rugby)
The England speedster has struggled to impress since rejoining the cherry & whites in June, with Louis Rees-Zammit and Ollie Thorley making him look bang average. The 30-year-old has so far made six appearances since lockdown – totalling 418 minutes – without crossing the whitewash.
To put that in context, he’d scored four tries in just over 300 minutes for Leicester before making the move back to Kingsholm. Not the sort of form he’ll be happy with heading into the Autumn Internationals, or with the British & Irish Lions tour quickly approaching.
