The Wasps hooker was called up to England’s 2016 Six Nations Championship squad on 13 March 2016 as injury cover for Jamie George and would make his England debut that Spring as a replacement against Wales on 29 May 2016.
However, he didn’t play much rugby in the two years that followed with his career being badly affected by knee and shoulder injuries. The 28-year-old, who re-joins Sale Sharks this summer, has since got his career back on track, but has struggled to get himself back into the England reckoning.
