Match Report: Worcester 12-26 Wasps – Injury-hit Wasps put Warriors to the sword

  • Wasps climb back to within a point of leaders Saracens after win away Worcester
  • Brendan Macken’s try combined with the boot of Rob Miller gave Dai Youngs’ men a 19-12 lead at the break
  • Dan Robson touched down after the break to secure the away victory for Wasps
Weakened Wasps kept up the pressure on Saracens at the top of the table after they claimed a 26-12 victory over Worcester Warriors at Sixways on Sunday.

The visitors opened the try scoring within the opening 60 seconds after Brendan Macken intercepted on halfway to run over unchallenged. Rob Miller, playing at fly-half, added the extras to give Wasps an early 7-0 advantage.

Miller and Jamie Shillcock then traded four penalties apiece as Wasps took a 19-12 lead into the break.

Scrum-half Dan Robson helped the visitors move clear five minutes after the restart by touching down with Miller again on target from the tee to complete the scoring, 12-26.
