“Not working” – Danny Care reveals the main problem with Eddie Jones

Former England scrum-half Danny Care believes that Jones needs to change his approach if the side is to get more out of their attack.

“Every other thing has changed – players, other coaches, backroom staff, physios,” Care told Rugby Union Weekly.

“Something isn’t quite working and hasn’t for two years. I want England to play a brand of rugby that excites.”

“I don’t think the players are being trusted enough to say their bit and do what they want to do – and we know there is a bit of fear factor in this camp,”

The Harlequins star added: “Eddie is not a bad coach, but something isn’t quite working. He has to give the players a little more trust or give [attack coach] Martin Gleeson the trust to say this is how we are going to play.

“England have got an awful lot of work to do if they are going to be anywhere near the best teams.”

Danny Care and four other players blacklisted by Eddie Jones

#1. Danny Care

Former England start Kyran Bracken was the first person to reveal why the Quins playmaker was mysteriously frozen out of Jones plans in 2018 despite being a regular up until that point.

“He (Care) made the mistake of speaking his mind to Eddie Jones and questioning how he wanted him to play when he was playing with an England ‘B’ team against Japan in the autumn of 2018,” revealed the former England scrum-half.

“Eddie’s response to that was ‘that’s not the attitude I want’ and he binned him from his plans.”

This story was later backed up by England and Harlequins teammate Mike Brown in his column for the Mail Online with Care confirming he’s been blacklisted

DID YOU KNOW? At age 11 he was invited to join the Academy at Sheffield Wednesday Football Club which meant giving up club rugby union for a few years
