Joe Marler give Lions fans a little cheer as he live tweeted during their defeat against South Africa – and it’s fair to say it was an emotional rollercoaster.
The British and Irish Lions lost an agonisingly close series decider to the Springboks as Morne Steyn’s late penalty sealed a 19-16 victory.
The victory capped off an impressive turnaround after South Africa lost the first Test, but there were no fans to celebrate in Cape Town Stadium because of coronavirus restrictions.
At first, the 2017 Lions tourist thought Warren Gatland’s were going to romp it when they took the lead through Ken Owens, but made sure to be nonspecific with his tweet (this will come up later).
He then criticized the ‘boring’ Springboks as the game dribbed and drabbed in the second-half..
He then drooled over the footwork from South Africa speedster Cheslin Kolbe for his try.
He then claimed he got the earlier prediction right. Okay, we believed you Joe…
He then responded to fans following the uproar after full-time.
He then followed it up with this tweet.
