REPORTS | Leicester Tigers close in on Manu Tuilagi replacement

Leicester Tigers are finally closing in on their Manu Tuilagi replacement.

Despite being linked with Welshman Jamie Roberts, 29-year-old Matias Moroni is expected to arrive at Welford Road this week after the Premiership club lost veteran center Manu Tuilagi to rivals, Sale Sharks.

The pumas is a very unpredictable operator and would certainly make Tigers less one dimensional than they have been in previous seasons.

According to America Rugby News, ESPN Scrum and The Rugby Paper, the Argentina international will join Tigers this week.

Moroni has been heavily involved for Argentine teams. He made his test debut against Scotland in 2014, played in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics and featured in RWCs 2015 and 2019. He currently has 47 caps for Argentina.
