Chris Ashton was given a seven-week suspension by an independent disciplinary panel comprising Richard Whittam QC (chair) with Becky Essex and Mitchell Read, following his red card during Sale’s pre-season fixture against Castres Olympique on Friday 17 August 2018.
Due to a change to Sale Sharks’ fixture list, Ashton’s suspension will now run until Monday 15 October. He is free to play again on Tuesday 16 October 2018.
